Process Lasso / ProcessGoverner uses high amount of RAM (>1GB)
« Last post by klayvessel on April 16, 2019, 03:21:47 PM »
I leave my workstation (notebook) running a long time--power suspend but no reboots--and Process Lasso related ProcessGovernor process over time Private Bytes usage can grow to >1GB RAM. The netbook is setup for a number of larger Virtual Machines so has 64GB RAM. I just noticed this again today so checked updates to see if anything had changed related to RAM consumption but didn't see any though I've updated to the latest release. Restarting ProcessGoverner (as happened automatically after the version upgrade) Private Bytes is back to ~5MB. This has been true across several of the latest versions.

The last I had installed before updating today was v9.0.0.552; now I'm running v9.1.0.6.

Process Lasso / Re: PL Update Notification Minimizes Game
« Last post by edkiefer on April 13, 2019, 07:04:39 AM »
It could be windows exclusive fullscreen mode issue, I have seen reports it is not working on later Win10 versions past 1709, even if you disable full-screen optimization in properties.
An easy test is while running the game hitting the windows key "shouldn't" bring up the start menu if it is working correctly.
For me, it does with 1809.

Hi It was a notification that an update was available and I could press update,
which opens up PL from tray and shows the notification box.
I did also have notifications enabled but was obviously hoping for a more subtle approach to notifying me.
Would obviously love to be notified, as manually,
I would just forget it and end up with a massively outdated version but I have disabled it for now. :)

same here :)

Process Lasso / Re: Automatic Game mode-No sleep mode?
« Last post by edkiefer on April 11, 2019, 06:41:44 AM »
What kind of game is this and how is it enabled, example Steam or you added the path in game mode option window?

So log says both game mode and anti sleep enabled but it doesn't?

Both are working fine on my end but that is Win10.

Process Lasso / Automatic Game mode-No sleep mode?
« Last post by thehay95 on April 10, 2019, 10:50:07 PM »
Previously, when a game process started, the Game mode was automatically triggered. That doesn't work anymore. The No sleep mode also isn't triggered automatically.

The strange thing is, as soon as I change a setting in PL GUI (e. g. log setting), the Game mode triggers (the entry in the log appears), but only one time.

PL latest beta28, Windows 7 x64. Maybe the change in the Keep running feature broke something?

Abuse of executable packers by malware authors made their use impractical due to false positives by security software. Licensing also got complicated due to a high fraud rate. It was untenable.

Pending ;). Thanks for the additional data and package. Note that I can not promise anything, but do plan to take a look.

I know it's always been slow with releases but it's now been over 3 and a half years since the last update with no ETA on any future versions, which leads me to believe there aren't any coming. Does anyone have any more info? Sorry if this has been discussed before here.

ciao!
here is the video
www.youtube.com/watch?v=lNplPEi9TE4

and here is the zipped folder to repeat the performance test in the video
www.siolibros.net/temp/MetaTrader5CorePrio.zip

i forgot to show where it's possible to see the final elaboration time
it's in the last bottom right tab, called JOURNAL
start back from the final rows and go up of some ones
you will find a row like this "optimization done in XXXX minutes"
here is a screenshot www.siolibros.net/temp/coreprio.gif

thanks for all
