Title: Bitsum mail down part of late April!
Post by: Jeremy Collake on April 26, 2014, 04:35:53 PM
Hi,

Incoming mail to Bitsum has been down between the 13-26 (approx), due to me fiddling around with the server. I have fixed things up now, and sincerely apologize.

So, if you sent any email during that period, please resend!

So, I guess it is time for something similar to alarm that report to you, if any Bitsum main/important feature is down? ;D

Yes, or maybe someone to smack me in the back of the head every time I go to 'fiddle' with something on the servers ;p.

Honestly, what I was actually doing was taking some measures to re-secure the server after the HeartBleed exploit. Who knows if it was ever used against the mail server, but I wanted to take some prudent security actions. I had went a little too far though :o.

That is not a bad idea, many user having the same password for their account, if 1 small server just leak their password, or even more important thing... :P
(I think email server only leak email or address, it should be fine if any email is not having any password in it)

This is worst than having a long down time for the servers.
