To select more files you can:
- Do a left-click and stroke mouse pointer
- Keep Ctrl key pressed and click the files you want
- Using same keyboard, keep Ctrl key pressed, set focus to a file using arrows and press Space to select it
Just for those who might have not known these possibilities. If you have more tricks, share with us. :)
I do not know if it works in Windows 8, because I have not used it so far.
Thank for the Tip.
You can also reverse it, use Shift key to select part of files, and hold CTRL key to cancel select the file. :)
Just the answer for this Topic, don't enable and playing with some Dangerous setting, except you don't care for your data.

What do you exactly mean? Could you point any examples that would say what you are trying to tell us about?
Who know, the only "danger" is sometimes my mouse are moving too fast, by using the CTRL to select the files also means that copy the selected file after you just left click+pulling the file. ;D
